Now let’s be honest, resolutions are hard to keep up with. So what I’ve decided to do this year, is set down some goals for 2018. This way I can continue to work on them instead of waiting to tick them off an invisible list after their completion. It’s going to be a work in progress.

  1. Read more:
I mean do I say this enough? But I really, truly do need and want to read more. I have joined a library which means I have to become committed to reading a lot more. So this year I’m going to make myself a list of all the books I want to read and hope to cross off as many as I can. Here’s hoping I can do it.
  2. Make art:
I am the kind of person who has to wait for art to come to me instead of planning and doing something myself. I’ll wait for an idea instead of looking for one, and that’s something I’d like to change this year.
  3. Skincare:
If you know me, I am the last person to care about makeup and face masks and all that jazz. But this year I’m gonna show myself some love and learn to look after myself. I’m gonna focus on my skincare and make myself happier.
  4. Stand up for myself:
I feel like I don’t do this enough. I want to learn to be more confident, more comfortable with myself. I want to not be the person who agrees with everyone anymore, this year I want to assert myself a little more, especially where necessary.
  5. Learn:
ABout myself, about the things that interest me and don’t. I want to expand my horizons this year.

So this is what I’m focusing on this upcoming year.

A very Happy New Year to everyone! I hope this new year brings you success, joy, knowledge, love, and peace!

What are your resolutions/goals? Let me know in the comments.

Until next time, in the new year,Jessica Simons
